Games all day, including Top High School Teams playing from 9 am - 6 pm

Join hundreds of area basketball players for a day of basketball, fun and inspiration at Haverford College on Saturday, October 21. Funds raised benefit The ALS Association Greater Philadelphia Chapter’s research program to find a cure for Lou Gehrig’s Disease and the Billy Lake Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bonner-Prendegast High School. Billy Lake was a Havertown, PA resident who succumbed to ALS in April 1992 when he was only 42. His family and friends created this basketball marathon as a tribute to his courage. Coach Phil Martelli has assembled local high school teams to play from 9 am to 6 pm. Other games include teams of local players – men, women, boys, and girls and a special game by the Phillies BallGirls at 11 am. In addition, the Haverford Women’s Basketball Team under the leadership of Coach Bobbi Morgan participates in honor of former team member Dominique Meeks, who graduated in 2012 and whose mother lost her life to ALS.

Many area referees are donating their services to the cause.

All are encouraged to attend and support the fight against ALS. There will be plenty of refreshments and some of the best basketball in the area. You can still sign up to play or donate at
